Event to Focus on Federal Policy’s Impact on Government Agency Technology Agendas for the Coming Year
Somerset, NJ – January 9, 2008– Lumeta, the leading provider of network assurance solutions for enterprises and government agencies, today announced that they are an official sponsor of the third annual CES Government Conference to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada on January 9 - 10, 2008. The conference offers focused discussions and substantive plenary sessions aimed at providing senior technology and management executives from government agencies with the opportunity to analyze the critical intersect of government agency technology applications with possible policy changes in areas such as homeland security and law enforcement. Information on the conference can be found here: http://www.cesweb.org/government/agenda.asp
Lumeta’s flagship product, IPsonar®, provides the global network visibility and required information necessary for government agencies tasked with meeting upcoming federal policy mandates. IPsonar uses multi-protocol discovery technology to create a comprehensive set of network facts and provides a visual map of all connectivity on the network as a baseline. As changes to the network are implemented, government agency network and IT security personnel can analyze updated baselines in order to assure that their defenses are aligned with policy.
“Given the potential for change to government agency networks in 2008, network managers and security personnel are facing the task of maintaining network operations and availability, not to mention security and compliance initiatives, while enacting federally mandated changes,” said Michael Markulec, executive vice president, technology and operations at Lumeta. “They need to enact these changes without causing organizational security policy and network defense configuration to become misaligned.”
By using IPsonar as part of a comprehensive Network Assurance Program, government agencies can address gaps between security policies and network defenses. Remediation efforts can also be prioritized based on a complete view of connectivity and risk. This is a critical requirement for validating policies and controls as government organizations respond to federal policy mandates.

Lumeta provides large enterprises and government agencies with the global visibility needed to quantify network risk and measure the impact of network change. Our network assurance solutions enable IT organizations to deploy new business services, maintain existing service levels and minimize network security risk to ensure compliant operations.
Lumeta’s flagship product, IPsonar, is the industry’s only solution that allows organizations to measure risk from a global network perspective. IPsonar maps every asset on a network—including assets not currently under management—visualizes the connectivity between assets and networks to uncover risk patterns and policy weaknesses, and enables network and security teams to bring unknown assets under management while deploying security technology more effectively to mitigate risk.
