Promotes Three Experienced Executives to Drive Sales and Business Growth

Lumeta, the leading provider of Network Assurance solutions for enterprises and government agencies, today announced that Michael Markulec has been named to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). The company also has appointed Ned Weintraub as VP of Business Development. Valerie Clayton has been promoted to the position of VP of North America Sales.
Michael is responsible for both operational and strategic leadership of Lumeta’s Network Assurance solutions and the development of the IPsonar® product suite. Michael also leads Lumeta’s marketing, product management and customer relations activities. Michael has over 20 years of experience in computer networking and software, with proven operational capabilities and the ability to plan and execute growth strategies resulting in significant returns. Michael is a sought after speaker and presenter on a variety of network and security topics, most notably on federal networking challenges such as IPv6 and the Trusted Internet Connections initiative.. Prior to joining Lumeta in 2001, Michael was the COO of nex-i.com, a data network service provider, where he played an instrumental role in that company’s successful acquisition by Eureka Broadband. Michael has also held senior sales and operations positions AT&T’s data network group, Niehoff of America, Pirelli Cable and served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.
Ned Weintraub heads the global expansion of Lumeta’s strategic alliances and channels programs. He has nearly 15 years of sales leadership developing and executing high growth strategies in a variety of markets. Ned has held various roles at Lumeta including Director of North America & International Sales and most recently he successfully accelerated Lumeta’s channel growth in the EMEA region. Prior to joining Lumeta, Ned was the Director of Sales at Nex-i.com where he led the company's explosive sales growth, ultimately leading to its successful acquisition.
Valerie Clayton is responsible for leading Lumeta’s North America sales and accelerating market penetration of the company’s network assurance solutions. She brings more than 20 years of sales experience in technology organizations to Lumeta. Previously, Valerie was director of Lumeta’s Federal Sales Division. In her new role, her responsibility includes sales in the public and commercial sectors throughout North America. Valerie joined Lumeta after spending more than a decade at BMC Software in various sales leadership positions. Prior to BMC Software, Valerie held sales and services positions at PSI International, VM Software and Computer Sciences Corporation.
