Somerset, NJ – OCTOBER 22, 2013 – Lumeta Corporation, the leader in network situational awareness, today announced Reginald P. Best has joined the company as Chief Product Officer. Best will oversee product development, product management and marketing initiatives. He brings 25 years of experience in IT security, data networking, and telecommunications to the company, having successfully led initiatives involving venture capital fund-raising, sales channel development, and product strategy for growth-stage and Fortune 500 companies.
Best will play a key role in the development and rollout of Lumeta’s network situational awareness products and services. He brings crucial operations experience and skills to Lumeta at a key point in the company’s growth.
“In addition to expanding our core enterprise and government markets, we will open new markets by making network situational awareness capabilities readily available for organizations of all sizes, in all form factors, and in a Software as a Service format for those that wish to outsource this capability,” said Best.
Prior to joining Lumeta, Best was President & COO of ProtonMedia. Best has founded several IT companies and successfully led them to acquisition, including Teleos Communications, AccessWorks Communications, and Netilla Networks, which was acquired by AEP Networks. He began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a member of technical staff. Best holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from City College of New York, and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Columbia University.

Bernard B. Markey is a co-founder and Managing Partner of Navigator Partners, LLC and a member of its Board of Managers. Mr. Markey has led all aspects of the private equity investment process including making new investments, assisting in building portfolio companies, and in exiting investments through sales and initial public offerings. He is a Manager of Cornerstone Franchise Group, LLC. He was Chairman of Project Leadership Associates, Inc. and HTE, Inc., a NASDAQ traded company. He has served on the board of numerous private companies including CK Franchising, Inc., Universal Environmental Services, LLC, Digney York Associates, LLC, and Coffin Turbo Pump, Inc. He was a General Partner with Meridian Venture Partners prior to co-founding Navigator. Mr. Markey is past Chairman of the Greater Philadelphia Venture Group, the predecessor to the MAC Alliance. He is a graduate of Villanova University and received his Masters in Management degree from the J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
